Open Water At The Dells and DePereThe Wolf may still be iced up but the Fox River at DePere and Wisconsin River at the Dells and other locations to the north are open and people are catching fish. Expect lots of boats as the word gets out but not so many that you shouldn't be able to find a group of fish without much pressure on them. A jig and minnow or GULP ALIVE shiner and you should catch some fish.

Joel,
On one of your last postings you said minnows should be dumped
at the boat landing before leaving. According to Kendal you just
have to dump the water out and show that they will be dying.
Same with fish, just empty your livewells before leaving and you
should be good to go. Please post if you don't agree.

Dumping the water out was considered killing your minnows, but under the new law being put into affect, you will not longer have to do so. You still must empty the water from your live well though.
